Slutress: A woman seen as promiscuous; often having worked in the sex industry. She has a hidden agenda to change her identity, help those like her, or change the world around her with her power.

Nomi Malone. She is the main character of the 1995 cult classic film, Showgirls. She’s a woman willing to try again at life, after experiencing the pain and struggles of her past. She travels to Las Vegas, leaving her old identity behind to write a new story for herself. Elizabeth Berkley plays Nomi in the movie. Elizabeth is a Shatabhisha moon native with the zodiac being placed in Aquarius. The women who have this nakshatra as a prominent placement have this inherent desire to live freely, to do their own thing, and to also be loved for everything that they are. This energy seeps into Elizabeth’s character in Showgirls.

Nomi has this childlike and adventurous spirit. She enjoys the simple things. She can savor the moment while eating her favorite meal, a burger and fries, and she can ground herself while painting her nails in intricate detail. When Nomi gets to partake in the simple things, her eyes are as bright as the moon and her smile, sweet and hopeful. Nomi is a soft woman on the inside, but her trauma and her surroundings force her to conform.

Upon arriving in Las Vegas, Nomi has already made it up in her mind that she’s “gonna win”. She has no doubt that Las Vegas is where she needs to be at this moment of her life. She gets a job as a stripper in a local club. Nomi had a desire to live a new life. She didn’t want anyone to see her as a whore anymore, but stripping seemed to be the only vacancy and the only thing she knew how to do. She wanted to be more than that though. She wasn’t satisfied with just stripping. She wanted to be art.
